A fire involving an electric scooter broke out shortly after midnight inside an apartment in the Agios Antonios area of Nicosia.
The Fire Service received an emergency call at 12:25am and sent three fire engines from the Paphos Gate and Kaimakli stations to the apartment building.
The scooter was heavily damaged by the fire and intense heat. Smoke also left visible discolouration on parts of the apartment’s walls.
The occupant noticed the flames early and attempted to control the fire before it could spread. Other residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution and gathered in an open area before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported and nobody was placed in danger during the incident.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances that led to the fire.
