Europe's first multi-themed resort opens in Limassol

The inauguration of the City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol on Monday marks a significant milestone for tourism in Cyprus, introducing the continent's first multi-theme resort.

With an impressive investment totaling over €600 million, the iconic City of Dreams Mediterranean is a groundbreaking development project of immense scale, aiming to establish Cyprus as a year-round destination for top-tier tourism, world-class entertainment, and a thriving hub for international business and conference tourism.

Striving to become a benchmark for the region, this multi-thematic resort is set to contribute to the sustainable growth of the Cypriot economy by attracting a large influx of tourists annually, generating hundreds of job opportunities, and fostering a local value chain through strategic collaborations with Cypriot suppliers and businesses.On July 11, Mr. Lawrence Ho, President and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, hosted a special event to commemorate the opening of the City of Dreams Mediterranean. During the event, he unveiled the company's vision that propelled the undertaking and successful implementation of this ambitious project. Mr. Grant Johnson, General Manager of City of Dreams Mediterranean, also highlighted the unique features, services, and amenities offered by this multifaceted resort.

Attendees were treated to an exclusive tour of the resort, followed by a delightful lunch at one of its exquisite restaurants.

A New Chapter Begins for Cyprus

Mr. Lawrence Ho, President and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Today signifies the start of an incredibly exciting chapter. For Mr. Lawrence Ho, the journey began 16 years ago in 2007 when he and his wife visited the island for a wedding. Captivated by the warmth, hospitality, and natural splendor of Cyprus, he couldn't resist submitting an investment proposal when the Republic of Cyprus initiated a tender for the creation of an integrated casino resort (ICR) in 2015.

Emphasizing the significance of the City of Dreams Mediterranean as an investment in Cyprus' future, Lawrence Ho stated, "By providing Cyprus with a new 'story to tell,' our investment in the City of Dreams Mediterranean is a catalyst for the country's development.
