Fidias hits back after video leaks his office details, calls it a ‘security threat’

MEP says personal data was exposed illegally and claims he faces death threats.

MEP Fidias Panayiotou has responded publicly after a video showing details of his parliamentary office circulated online, calling the leak illegal, dangerous, and part of what he describes as an ongoing campaign against him.

In a new video posted on his own channels, Panayiotou said “every limit was crossed” after his office contract, along with personal information, was made public. He warned that he may take legal action, saying the disclosure puts his safety at risk.

“They didn’t just leak my office contract,” he said. “They showed my ID number, my signature, and the address of my office. Anyone could pretend to be me at public services. That’s a serious problem.”

Panayiotou framed the controversy as part of a broader “war” against him, claiming it began when his Direct Democracy movement started gaining support. “From the moment the percentages went up, they’ve been attacking us nonstop,” he said.

The MEP said he deliberately kept his office location private because he receives what he described as hundreds of threatening messages, including threats on his life. Making the address public, he said, creates a real security concern.

He also rejected claims that he lives in the office, saying he has never stayed there. “I live in a small apartment that I pay for with my own money,” Panayiotou said, adding that he is willing to provide police with security camera footage from his home to disprove the accusations.

The video comes as Panayiotou remains under heavy public scrutiny, with the latest claims adding fuel to an already heated debate over transparency, privacy, and political targeting.
