Turkish Cypriot media have reported the first Turkish Cypriots who died in building ruins as a result of the earthquake that struck Turkey.

They are Amats Arnavutoglu, a football coach in occupied Nicosia who died in the Hatai area, and Arda, Elif, and Ilknur Akpapa, who were on vacation in Kahramanmaras, according to Kipris Postasi.

Amats Arnavutoglu was in Hatai for medical reasons, according to a social media post by the football team "Gionjmenkoyu," and there has been no communication with him since the earthquake. His body was discovered in the wreckage of a plane.

Furthermore, a book of condolences has been opened at the Turkish 'embassy' in the occupied territories, according to Kipris Postasi.

President Anastasiades said today " Our hearts go out to the Turkish Cypriot students, parents, and teachers who are still missing."

The President also said on Twitter that his thoughts and prayers are with the Turkish Cypriot students, parents, and teachers who are still missing in Turkey.

"Our hearts go out to the Turkish Cypriot students, parents, and teachers who are still missing. We reiterate our willingness to contribute and assist with the current humanitarian rescue and rehabilitation efforts," the President of the Republic remarked.
