Public outrage over pollution, lack of awareness, and indifference

Newsroom

Shocking images of pollution from an area in Paphos have surfaced, sparking sadness and disappointment as they highlight a lack of environmental awareness and disregard for the consequences.

In a social media post, Andreas Evlavis of the Ecologists’ Movement shared photos and videos from the Green Point in Agia Varvara, Paphos, showing piles of garbage, debris, and other waste both inside and outside the facility.

"Economic indicators may be soaring, but environmental ones have hit rock bottom. Meanwhile, we are suffocating from the stench and foul odors," he wrote.
