Greek authorities have swiftly solved the murder of a prominent Polish professor in Agia Paraskevi, revealing an amateurishly executed crime involving multiple accomplices, including a minor.

Przemysław Jesiorski, 43, a respected economist and marketing professor with a career spanning top U.S. universities such as Berkeley and Johns Hopkins, was fatally shot in a premeditated ambush linked to personal and financial disputes with his former wife.

Police arrested Jesiorski’s ex-wife, also 43, who denies involvement but faces charges of instigating the murder, alongside her current partner and three foreign accomplices. Investigators uncovered a trail of evidence including encrypted messages, a rented black SUV, fabricated alibis, and a key photograph found on the woman’s phone, linking her to the crime.

The confessed shooter, the ex-wife’s partner, claimed the killing was “for the good of his family” and described how he planned the murder over six weeks, acquiring a gun in Athens before ambushing Jesiorski near the ex-wife’s home. He and accomplices demanded up to €50,000 to remain silent after the killing.

The motive centers on custody battles and disputes over joint business ventures held by the couple in Greece and the U.S. Jesiorski’s family, devastated by the loss, is raising funds for repatriation and legal costs while calling for justice across Greece, Poland, and the United States.

International media, including CNN and Polish outlets, have extensively covered the case, highlighting Jesiorski’s academic stature and the tragic nature of the crime. A close friend described him as a devoted teacher and family man, while his brother publicly appealed for support.
