Grigorios Kamperis, Nicholas Argyrou, George Louka and Elias Kokkinos to speak at Green Agenda Cyprus Summit

This year’s Sustainable Development Conference will focus on supporting and strengthening Cyprus’s national strategy for the Green Transition. The ultimate goal is to position Cyprus as a model of environmental responsibility and sustainable growth, contributing to a greener, more resilient, and sustainable future.

As part of this collective effort, four key speakers will share their insights at the conference: Greg Kamperis, Nikolas Argyrou, Giorgos Louka, and Elias Kokkinos.

Grigorios Kamperis will participate in the panel discussion titled “Green Transition or Greenwashing? The Top CEO’s Take.”

Mr. Kamperis is a seasoned executive in finance and corporate strategy, with extensive experience in strategic financial planning, business development, and leadership. He currently serves as managing director for Cyprus and Malta at Philip Morris International. His career includes senior roles in financial management, business planning, and cost control, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, US GAAP financial reporting, and cost management. His work at Papastratos (Philip Morris International) helped drive the company’s transformation in Cyprus and Malta, with a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. Kamperis is an advocate of data-driven decision-making, collaborative leadership, and sustainable strategies aligned with both corporate and market needs.

Nicholas Argyrou will speak on the panel “Green Transition, Funding and Risk Management.”

Mr. Argyrou is a maritime executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in marine energy, digital transformation, and strategic client management. He is currently Director of Strategic Clients at Baseblue, supporting shipowners, operators, and charterers in meeting the challenges of decarbonizing shipping, complying with the EU ETS, and optimizing fuel procurement. He brings deep market knowledge and has held senior roles across the maritime fuel supply chain. He is also a regular speaker at international conferences, known for connecting energy transition strategies with digital technologies and maritime operations.

George Louka will join the panel “Electrification: How to Remove the Bumps.”

Mr. Louka has been the Director of the Department of Road Transport since July 2024 and holds a strong academic and professional background in mechanical engineering and sustainable energy. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from the National Technical University of Athens, an MSc in environmental technologies from Imperial College London, an MBA from the University of Cyprus, and an MSc in sustainable energy systems from the Open University of Cyprus. Since 2005, he has held technical and public sector roles, including at the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. He has contributed to national and EU transport initiatives, such as co-chairing the EU Land Transport Working Group during Cyprus’s EU presidency in 2012, overseeing the Larnaca Port and Marina concession agreement, and drafting the grant scheme for electric vehicle charging stations.

Elias Kokkinos will also speak on the “Electrification: How to Remove the Bumps” panel.

Mr. Kokkinos is an experienced managing director with a background in marketing, sales, and business strategy. He leads EKCO Group, EKCO Maximum Power, and Smoothie Factory Cyprus, overseeing operations, brand development, and market expansion. He holds a degree in business studies with a specialization in marketing from the University of West London and is a certified Cisco Network Associate. He has held strategic and sales positions at Unicars Ltd. and Giftpoint Ltd. in the UK, gaining experience in product positioning, pricing, digital marketing, and B2B sales. As founder of Business Insights Consulting, he provides strategic planning and business development services. Starting his career in technical roles at NewCytech and IBM, Kokkinos built a solid foundation in IT. He is fluent in Greek and English and also speaks French and Italian. Known for his blend of analytical thinking and creativity, he is dedicated to innovation, consumer behavior, and business growth locally and internationally.
