Two residence maintenance workers are wanted by police in connection with an investigation into stolen money from a holiday home in Paphos.

According to local media, police in Paphos are searching for two suspects following a complaint regarding €47,000 in cash reportedly stolen from a holiday home while the owners were overseas.

The home owners, described as foreign nationals who were abroad at the time of the alleged incident, reportedly had asked friends on the island to go and check on their property, described as a holiday home, including a sum of money that was being kept at the residence.

Police told Knews the friends who went to check on the property determined that the money was gone, with additional reports saying two property maintenance workers later emerged as suspects and warrants had been issued for their arrest.

It was understood that the handymen had been employed by the home owners, while police clarified the individuals who went to check on the residence were next of kin and not suspects in the case.

CID Paphos is carrying out an investigation.
