Hotel clerk gets punched in the face by thief who runs away with phone and cash

Police are searching for a male suspect who reportedly punched a receptionist at a hotel in Limassol and managed to get away with 1000 euro.

An unknown male, who was wearing a hoodie with his face covered, entered the lobby of a hotel establishment in Limassol on Wednesday morning around 1:45am and demanded money.

According to police, the suspect approached a male employee and demanded cash before punching the receptionist in the face.

The attacker managed to grab €1000 from the cash register as well as a mobile phone that belonged to the 44-year-old employee.

He then ran out of the hotel, which is located on the coastal town’s seafront, and fled the scene on foot.

CID Limassol are investigating the incident.
