Health Ministry announces one death, 131 new cases

Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 76 coronavirus patients, 26 of which are in critical condition

The Health Ministry on Monday announced one coronavirus fatality and 131 new cases, raising the death toll to 230 and total cases detected so far to 33,391.

The fatality involved an 89-year-old man who suffered from underlying health conditions.

The new cases emerged after 34,190 tests were conducted. Among new cases, 75 involved people who tested positive to a rapid test.

The remaining 34 were contacts, one was a secondary contact, six were airport arrivals, 10 were people who took the initiative to get tested, while five were tested at a general hospital.

Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 76 coronavirus patients, 26 of which are in critical condition.

22 patients are in the Famagusta general hospital, three of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is also treating 25 patients, 18 of which are in the ICU. 28 more coronavirus patients are at the Limassol general hospital where five are in the ICU, while one is at the Makario hospital in Nicosia.
