A high school student stepped into the role of Health Minister for a day after winning a nationwide competition that asked participants what they would do if they were in charge of the country’s health sector.
The student, Lina, spent the day alongside Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides, taking part in official visits and meetings connected to the ministry’s daily operations. The pair also toured healthcare facilities and discussed the work being carried out throughout the day while traveling between appointments.
Charalambides shared a video of the experience on social media, explaining that Lina earned the opportunity through the contest, titled “What would you do if you were Health Minister for a day?”
In a message accompanying the post, the minister praised the student and wished her success in achieving her future goals. He also expressed hope that she could one day return to the position in an official capacity for far longer than a single day.
