Newsroom
Hey, weather watchers! Today’s forecast is bringing a bit of drama—think strong winds, chilly temps, and even some mountain snow! But don’t worry, sunshine is on the way.
This morning, some grumpy clouds might throw down a few raindrops (or even a snowflake or two if you’re way up high in the mountains). The wind? Oh boy—it’s in a mood! Expect it to whoosh and whistle at speeds of 4 to 6 Beaufort (that’s pretty strong, so keep an eye on your hats and umbrellas!). The sea will be choppy too, so probably not the best day for a swim. Temperatures will climb to around 13°C in the middle of the island, 15°C near the coast, and a frosty 2°C in the highest mountains—where the snow is still hanging around.
Tonight, the sky will clear up, and the wind will calm down a bit. But don’t be fooled—it’s going to get cold! We’re talking 1°C inland, 6°C on the western coast, 4°C in other coastal spots, and a brrr-worthy -3°C in the tallest mountains. If you're in those high places, expect some icy frost in the morning—perfect for making frosty footprints!
Now for the good news! Friday is bringing back the sunshine, and temperatures will start to rise. Saturday might see some extra clouds floating by, and by Sunday afternoon, the mountains might get a little surprise rain shower. But overall, temperatures will stay nice and normal for this time of year.
And for our snow lovers—here’s the latest update: Troodos Square has 11 cm of snow, while Chionistra is sitting under a fluffy 22 cm blanket of the white stuff!
So, stay warm, hold onto your hats, and enjoy the weather adventure!
