Honda reports more than 1,300 monthly appointments for Takata airbag replacements

Company expects numbers to rise with upgraded infrastructure, larger support team.

Newsroom

Galatariotis Motors and Honda Cyprus announced that the nationwide airbag replacement campaign for vehicles affected by the Takata recall is continuing at a steady pace, with more than 1,300 appointments being processed each month at authorized service centers across the country.

The campaign is part of a global safety initiative addressing defective Takata airbag inflators, which have been linked to serious safety risks. Affected vehicles are being recalled to replace the airbags free of charge as part of a coordinated effort between Honda Cyprus and Honda Europe.

In a public statement, the company said it anticipates a further increase in the number of appointments in the coming months. This projection follows recent investments in technical infrastructure and the expansion of its specialized support team, aimed at accelerating the pace of replacements and improving customer service.

Honda Cyprus emphasized that appointments are scheduled based on safety risk levels and the availability of replacement parts, in alignment with guidelines set by Honda Europe. Customers with vehicles identified as high priority are being contacted first.

The company continues to urge all affected vehicle owners to contact Honda Cyprus directly to schedule their appointment and ensure their vehicle is safe to operate.
