In a harrowing incident Wednesday night (6/3), a couple in the Paphos Province experienced moments of sheer terror when hooded intruders broke into their home, searching for money.

According to police reports, around 20:30, a 52-year-old man at his residence in Chloraka heard noise at the main entrance.

Upon opening the balcony door to investigate, the man was assaulted by an unknown individual wearing a hood. Meanwhile, his wife, who was in a neighboring house at the time of the attack, heard the commotion and rushed to their home.

A second hooded assailant pushed the woman and snatched her phone as she attempted to call the police, throwing it to the ground.

Unable to find any money inside the house, the two intruders fled with the assistance of a third individual waiting for them in a vehicle.

Police are conducting investigations to apprehend the perpetrators, while the 52-year-old man has been hospitalized due to injuries sustained to his face and head during the attack.
