Motorists are being urged to exercise heightened caution as hazardous road conditions were reported across several parts of Cyprus on Saturday morning.
Police said that rockfalls and large volumes of soil have fallen onto sections of the Limassol-Paphos motorway, particularly near Sotira and Paramali. Similar incidents were also recorded on the Nicosia–Larnaca motorway, affecting the stretch between Lympia, Athienou, and Kosiis. These incidents were reported earlier in the morning, prompting warnings to drivers using the affected routes.
Additional problems were later reported in the Troodos mountain area, where landslides occurred on multiple roads, including the Evrychou–Kakopetria–Karvouna road, the Kakopetria-Pinewood-Pedoulas route, and the Pedoulas-Kykkos-Kambos-Orkontas road.
At around 8:00 a.m., dense fog was reported in these mountainous areas, significantly reducing visibility. In several locations, water accumulation was observed on the roadway, making road surfaces particularly slippery.
Police continue to advise drivers to reduce speed, remain alert, and follow instructions while crews monitor conditions and work to ensure road safety.
