An 18-year-old learner driver was caught speeding at 185 kilometers per hour on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway Sunday night. He was stopped and arrested by members of the Road Accident Prevention Sqaud.
According to the police, the young driver was operating the vehicle without being accompanied by a licensed instructor, in violation of the conditions of his learner’s permit. He also had another 18-year-old passenger in the car. A preliminary drug test was conducted, which returned a positive result.
In its statement, the police emphasized: "Drive responsibly! Protect yourself, your passengers, and all road users."
