Police are asking for the public’s help in apprehending a 19-year-old Syrian national, a who was in custody and escaped from Athalassa mental hospital.
Authorities say Hussain Hajaleh escaped from Nicosia’s Athalassa psychiatric clinic on Sunday, July 29, just two days after he checked in.
Hajaleh was in police custody and was required to check into Athalassa under a court order.
The fugitive is approximately 1.75m tall with short hair and a goatee, while a whilte T-Shirt he was wearing had a dog picture on it.
Anyone with information on Hajaleh’s whereabouts or details that could assist police in apprehending him is asked to call Latchia police at 22.607.300 or go to the nearest police station.
