The Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a 46-year-old man to eight years in prison after finding him guilty on six counts of child sexual abuse.
The trial was held behind closed doors to protect the identity of the minor, according to the Cyprus News Agency.
The court found that the man had repeatedly abused a 13-year-old girl between 2021 and 2022.
The girl’s testimony was presented in court and found to be credible. The defendant denied the charges, but the court ruled his testimony was not reliable.
