A 45-year-old man is wanted in connection with a murder investigation following an incident last night in Ormideia.
The British Bases issued a statement identifying the suspect as Costas Sotiri Antoniou, 45, of Ormideia. The statement said Antoniou is wanted in connection with a murder that occurred on June 25 on the Ormideia-Xylophagos road within the British Bases of Dhekelia.
Authorities have released a photograph of Antoniou and urge anyone with information to contact them at 1443, 24747900, 24747912, or 25967227.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bases Police in collaboration with the Republic of Cyprus Police. The murder was reported around 11 p.m. last night at a car repair shop just outside Ormideia. Officers arrived on the scene to find a man dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police spokesperson Christos Andreou stated that Cyprus Police are ready to provide assistance if requested by the British Bases. He confirmed that the Bases Police have detailed information about the killing and are prepared to cooperate fully.
