Missing Nicosia man found in Limassol

Police find Stelios Georgiou walking on a Limassol roadside three days after his disappearance

Stelios Georgiou who went missing on Saturday has been found in Limassol walking along a road, a day after police released his photo to the public.

The 36-year-old man from Nicosia was picked up by police just before 5pm on Tuesday, following a tip authorities received from a concerned citizen who spotted Georgiou and thought he resembled the missing man in the photo.

According to police, many people contacted authorities to give information regarding the disappearance, which drew attention even from Special police units and got the Swat team and a helicopter involved.

No further information was made available on Tuesday evening as to what had transpired before and during the disappearance. His car had been spotted on Monday near a gas station and reports said it run out of gas.
