Hot temperatures inland, isolated showers likely, humidity on the rise in some parts

A warm air front continues to affect Cyprus, with humidity rising substantially in the southeast and high temperatures in the interior of the island reaching 39 degrees.

Thursday skies will be mostly clear throughout the day while increasing clouds will appear on and off over local areas with a chance of showers and possibly isolated storms, mainly in the mountains and inland.

Afternoon winds are expected to be very strong on the southern and western coasts, while humidity levels are rising substantially in the south and along the eastern shores.

Maximum highs are expected to reach 39° degrees Celsius inland, around 32 on the west coast, around 34 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 30 up in the mountains.

Evening weather is expected to be mostly clear with chances of low clouds and light fog forming in the early morning hours. Minimum lows will reach 22 degrees in the interior, in the north, and out west, 24 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 18 up in the mountains.

Weekend weather will be mostly clear in the early parts of the day with increasing clouds around noon and in the afternoon, both Saturday and Sunday, with chances of local showers and isolated thunderstorms in the mountains and in the interior.

Temperatures are expected to remain roughly the same for the rest of the week, with levels slightly above normal averages for this time of year.
