Peristerona’s own Neofytos Kyriakou has once again made his village and island proud with a remarkable achievement on the international gymnastics stage. Kyriakou secured the gold medal in Vault at the apparatus finals of the World Challenge Cup held in Szombathely, Hungary, earning an impressive 13.850 points to claim first place.
Other Cypriot athletes also delivered strong performances: Marios Georgiou achieved 4th place on the Parallel Bars, while Socratis Pilakouris placed 6th on the Rings.
This latest success follows a strong performance earlier this year, when Kyriakou finished 6th at the European Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig at the end of May.
