Limassol police launch attempted murder investigation after kinsmen arguing over rent resort to violence

A man in Limassol was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds on Tuesday morning following a domestic dispute between kinsmen who were also housemates.

Local media reported that a 26-year-old male stabbed his 36-year-old uncle Tuesday morning following a family dispute, with additional reports saying the two kinsmen were arguing about rent in their place of residence in Saripolou Square.

The nephew reportedly was upset over rent payment because the uncle did not pay his fair share, prompting the two men to resort to a physical altercation

According to media sources, who said police were investigating attempted murder following a domestic dispute, the two men described as Bangladeshi nationals were arguing inside their home around 7am.

During the fight, the nephew reportedly stabbed his uncle with a knife. The 36-year-old was rushed to the ER at Limassol General Hospital with wounds on his back and in the stomach area.

Police said they were investigating attempted murder while reports described the stab victim’s condition as critical.
