New express bus to UCy rolls out from Tamassos

Pame Express expands service, while rural Nicosia gets long-awaited direct route to university and hospital. No more transfers, just fast, fuss-free travel.

Newsroom

If you live in rural Nicosia and are tired of changing buses to get to the hospital or university, good news is on the way.

Starting June 2, 2025, the Pame Express service is getting a small but meaningful upgrade. The route will now extend to include stops at the House of Representatives and the Nicosia courts, making life easier for people who need to visit either for work or personal matters. The Transport Ministry says the change is a direct response to passenger requests.

But that’s not all.

The Cyprus Public Transport company is also rolling out a brand-new express route, called X200, which will run directly from Tamassos to the University of Cyprus. The new route is being hailed as a big win for communities in mountainous Nicosia, who’ve long been asking for a faster and more direct way to reach the Nicosia General Hospital and the university – no more transfers or zig-zagging through town.

The X200 will use the new peripheral highway, cutting down travel time and offering a much smoother ride.

The schedule:

From Tamassos: 6:00, 8:00, 12:00, and 14:00
From the University of Cyprus: 7:00, 9:00, 13:00, and 15:00
Service runs daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Whether you’re a student, a hospital visitor, or just someone who wants to avoid the traffic and transfers, this new route could be your ticket to a quicker commute.
