The government enthusiastically embraced the introduction of an additional Pame Express route starting on October 30. Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced during a routine press briefing at the presidential residence on Tuesday that the Pame Express, which began its pilot phase on September 7, has been averaging around 700 daily trips. Estimates indicate that it is relieving the roads of approximately 300 private vehicles each day in this area.

Letymbiotis stated, "Occupancy during the day typically reaches a peak of 25%. During the busiest hours, particularly in the first three trips of the day and from 14:00 to 17:00 when commuters return, the buses are frequently overcrowded."

Since the measure's implementation, approximately 23,000 journeys have been completed using five state-of-the-art buses designed for wheelchair accessibility, with complimentary parking facilities available.

Mr. Letymbiotis concluded, "The success of Pame Express surpasses our initial expectations, showcasing the effectiveness of measures aimed at alleviating traffic congestion by bolstering public transportation."
