Over 2,600 third-country nationals repatriated since January

Joint effort leads to significant number of involuntary returns in 2023

The Aliens and Immigration Service of the Cyprus Police proceeded on Tuesday to the repatriation of 31 third-country nationals that were staying in Cyprus, it was announced on Wednesday. In total 2,615 third-country nationals were repatriated so far this year.

According to a press release by the Cyprus Police, their Aliens and Immigration Service, in cooperation with the Greek Authorities and FRONTEX, proceeded to the repatriation of 31 individuals, as part of an operation for the involuntary return of third-country nationals to their countries.

It is noted that, on a joint fight from Greece and Cyprus, 31 nationals of third countries residing in Cyprus, returned to their countries on Tuesday.

Police note that they continue their efforts on maximizing the number of returns of third-country nationals.
