Cypriot police are investigating two Palestinian men, ages 32 and 38, on allegations linked to terrorism offenses and participation in a criminal organization following their arrest under court warrants.

The suspects appeared before the Larnaca District Court, which approved an eight-day detention order to allow investigators to continue questioning and examining evidence connected to the case.

Authorities said several items were confiscated during searches carried out at properties connected to the two men. Among the materials recovered were objects that investigators believe could potentially be used in the construction of explosive devices, along with maps and other evidence now included in the case file.

According to footage and images presented in a report by journalist Thiseas Ioannou for ANT1 television, police raids were conducted at a residence in the Governor’s Beach area that investigators suspect may have been operating as a laboratory. Officers also searched an apartment in the Kamares area of Larnaca where the 32-year-old suspect had been living.

Police investigations are continuing as forensic examinations and interviews progress.
