A section of a residential building collapsed Sunday in the Chrysopolitissa area of Larnaca, forcing three women from their home after part of a wall and roof gave way.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. while the occupants were inside the property. The women escaped without injuries because they were in a different room when the collapse occurred. Authorities were notified later in the day.
Emergency crews from the Fire Service and officials from the Larnaca District Local Government Organization responded to the scene and sealed off the structure after determining it was unsafe.
The women are expected to stay in temporary accommodation, while authorities have contacted the property owner regarding the condition of the building.
The collapse marks the second similar incident reported in the district within a matter of days, prompting another response from local emergency and municipal services.
