Paphos police department investigates eleven domestic violence cases in May

Arrests made and orders issued as Paphos CID takes action against perpetrators, highlighting collaborative efforts for victim support

Eleven cases were investigated by the Paphos Police Department's domestic violence unit in May, according to Paphos Police Department spokesman and Paphos CID head Michael Nicolaou.

In a statement to CNA, Mr. Nicolaou said that out of the 11 cases, 10 persons were arrested.

All cases were registered before the Paphos District Court and exclusion/removal orders were issued against 11 persons. Mr. Nicolaou said that the unit also receives complaints through correspondence from various departments and/or government agencies.

He said that great importance is given to the coordination of the Police, while special emphasis is placed on cooperation with the Social Welfare Services and with hospitals for the treatment of victims.
