An elderly woman is in critical condition following a road accident in Limassol, when she was struck by a food delivery motorcycle.

According to police, a 62-year-old woman on foot was struck by a food delivery motorcycle on Makariou Avenue in Limassol on Sunday evening around 7:45pm.
Doctors who assessed her condition as critical said she had subdural hematoma and ordered the woman transferred to Nicosia General
The woman, described as a Greek Cypriot local resident, was rushed to the Emergency Room at Limassol General Hospital where medics said she had suffered serious head injury and multiple bone fractures.

The food delivery man, described as a 28-year-old foreign national, was treated for minor injuries and then detained for questioning under an arrest warrant in the late evening.
As of Monday 12 noon, police had not requested nor indicated whether they would seek his remand. It was understood that the delivery guy would be released by late Monday night, when the 24-hour arrest period was set to expire.
Police told Knews that investigators believe the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street. It was not clear whether there was a pedestrian crossing at the scene of the accident, as the full circumstances of the incident were still not clear.
