The government has withdrawn the request pending before the parliamentary finance committee for the purchase of vehicles for state officials, the parliamentary finance committee said.
The request had been submitted by the outgoing government to the committee on February 24.
According to reliable sources, the request was withdrawn because the President of the Republic examined the issue and determined that it needed to be re-evaluated, so he requested its withdrawal, which was granted.
In its request to the Finance Committee, the Ministry of Finance asked for the release of a total of €3.09 million from the state budget's 2023 expenditure group, which is related to the purchase of other vehicles and mobile machinery. Of this amount, €1.78 million was designated for the purchase of 35 saloon passenger cars for officials.
