President Christodoulides to address COP28 Summit in Dubai

National statement on climate action and bilateral meetings with world leaders planned

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Nicos Christodoulides, will make a National Statement on Friday in the framework of the Plenary Session of the COP28 Summit, which is taking place in Dubai.

A Presidency statement said that President Christodoulides is currently participating in the deliberations of the Climate Change Summit, COP28.

Upon his arrival this morning at the Dubai Convention Centre, President Christodoulides was welcomed by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The President of the Republic participated in the opening session of the COP28 summit. He is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state taking part in the summit.

In the afternoon, he will visit, among others, the Greek Pavilion at the Summit, and will then participate and address an event on the sidelines of the Summit, where he will review the progress made since the Paris Agreement.

He will then make a National Statement at the Summit Plenary and tonight he will attend a reception hosted by the President of the UAE.
