President Nikos Christodoulides will soon start a tour of all Cyprus districts, beginning with rural areas, to talk with local leaders about recent changes to local government rules. This announcement came on Saturday at an event hosted by First Lady Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides at the Presidential Residence in Troodos.
Christodoulides said that improving life in rural areas is a top priority for the government. He stressed the importance of creating better conditions so that young families are encouraged to move back to the countryside. “We need to make sure the right conditions are in place, especially for young couples, to help them return to our rural areas,” he said.
The government is already working on some projects, like a housing plan to improve living conditions in these areas. They are also focusing on better education, health services, and business opportunities for rural communities.
As part of his plan, Christodoulides will visit rural districts to meet with local leaders. He will discuss how to attract more people to these areas and announce further actions to support rural development.
