Rain on the way but coast is clear

Chances of rain over the mountains expected to stay clear of the coast, low to mid 30's

The first week of June starts in the low to mid 30’s while chances of rain showers are expected towards mid-week over the mountains.

A low pressure system is affecting the area over Cyprus with dust remaining at moderate levels.

Monday skies will be cloudy with mainly high passing clouds throughout the day. Maximums are expected to reach 36° Celsius inland, around 31 in the eastern and southern parts of the island, 29 in the north and out west, while it will be 30 up in the mountains.

Tuesday clouds are expected in lower altitudes, with chances of rain over the two-day period mainly in the mountains

Evening skies will remain cloudy with increasing passing clouds at high altitudes. Temperature minimums will register 22 degrees inland as well as in the north and west, around 24 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 18 degrees up in the mountains.

Tuesday clouds are expected in lower altitudes, such as middle and high, with chances of local showers mainly in the mountains including possible isolated thunderstorms around noon. Temperatures are expected to drop, more noticeably inland and in the mountains, and they will remain close to normal averages.

Wednesday skies will be mostly clear while at times there will be increasing clouds with possible afternoon local showers in the mountains. No change in temperature is expected compared to Tuesday.

Thursday temperatures will rise slightly to reach just above normal averages for this time of year. Overall weather will be mostly clear, with no rain expected.
