Police say they are looking for a main suspect in a case of premeditated murder in Limassol, after the body of a foreign woman was discovered in her own bedroom on Sunday.

A woman from Belarus, identified as 36-year-old Iryna Hurskaya, was found dead on Sunday in a pool of blood, with new reports suggesting she was savagely beaten possibly during sex sometime between Saturday and Sunday in her own home at Agios Tychonas, Limassol district.

The victim’s boyfriend, 29-year-old Lithuanian national Aistis Mikalauskas, has been identified as the primary suspect in the case and is wanted by police for premeditated murder.

The teen reportedly told investigators he heard noise early Saturday morning but thought it was something outside

Local media said a female friend of the victim, who had been trying to get in touch with her, ended up going to the residence Sunday around 12 noon.

The friend and the victim’s 15-year-old son, who was at home when the woman showed up Sunday, discovered Hurskaya in her bedroom, with reports saying his mom was naked on the floor in a pool of blood, while blood stains were also found elsewhere in the residence.

The teenager reportedly told investigators that he had not seen his mother since Friday, when his younger siblings went away for the weekend to spend time with their father.

Reports said the teen said he had heard some noise early Saturday morning but thought it was something outside. A description of the sound was not immediately shared with news media.

Forensic examiners said Hurskaya had head injuries and there were signs of strangulation. A post mortem is expected to show cause and time of death.

Additional reports said Mikalauskas failed to report to work during the weekend, while local media said he had left his apartment and took his clothes and personal belongings with him.
