A brief but intense hailstorm swept through Limassol and Larnaca on Tuesday morning, turning streets white and giving residents an early taste of winter.
In Oroklini, residents said the weather hit “all at once,” with lightning, loud thunderclaps and a burst of hail pounding rooftops and parked cars. No major damage was immediately reported, but locals described the storm as one of the strongest they’ve seen this season.
Limassol was hit even harder. Several neighborhoods, including Agia Fyla, briefly looked like they’d been dusted with snow after a supercell storm dumped heavy hail across the area.
Kitasweather shared images of the scene online, crediting contributor Mario Michael for capturing the moment the storm transformed Limassol’s streets into a white carpet of ice.
Authorities urged drivers to take extra care, as the unstable weather pattern is expected to continue throughout the day.
