Sunshine, clouds, and a dash of weekend drama

Clear skies ahead, but don’t let your guard down — a few surprises are on the horizon!

Newsroom

Happy Friday! Whether you’re planning a cozy evening, a hike, or just excited to kick back after a long week, here's what Mother Nature has in store for you today and beyond. Spoiler alert: you might want an umbrella for those afternoon plans — just in case!

Today, the skies will be mostly clear, but as the afternoon rolls in, expect a few clouds to crash the party. Some isolated showers could pop up, especially around the mountainous areas south of Troodos. Winds will blow from the northwest to northeast at a gentle-to-moderate pace, clocking in at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a bit feisty — a little rough in the south and east, and rougher along the rest of the coast. Temperatures will reach 18°C inland, around 20°C on the coast, and a chillier 9°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, as night falls, the skies will stay mainly clear. Winds will continue from the northwest to northeast, sticking to the 3 to 4 Beaufort range. The sea will be a little rough, especially in the east where it might get a tad choppier. Expect temperatures to dip to 5°C inland, around 9°C on the coast, and a frosty 1°C in the higher mountains — perfect for some frost formation. Other sheltered mountainous spots might see a touch of frost too.

Looking Ahead:
- Saturday will keep things mostly clear and pleasant.
- Sunday brings a bit more drama with some afternoon clouds rolling in.
- Monday: Pack that raincoat! Clouds will dominate the skies, and local showers with isolated thunderstorms are likely by afternoon.

Temperature-wise, things will stay pretty consistent through Monday, hovering around the usual averages for this time of year.

Enjoy the weekend, stay warm, and don’t let a little frost or rain dampen those Friday vibes!
