Three Cypriot teams reach European playoffs

Omonia and Pafos F.C. advance to Conference League play-offs, joining APOEL in the Europa League play-offs for a chance at a triple Cypriot presence in UEFA competitions.

Omonia and Pafos F.C. have qualified for the play-offs of the Conference League, and along with APOEL's presence in the play-offs of the Europa League, three Cypriot teams are now in the play-offs of European competitions.

According to the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), Omonia eliminated Hungary's Fehérvár with two victories (1-0 and 2-0), and Pafos F.C. eliminated FC CSKA Sofia. Pafos F.C. secured their qualification in extra time, having lost the first match 2-1, won the second match 1-0 in Limassol, and advanced by winning 4-0 in extra time.

APOEL, after being eliminated from the Champions League play-offs by Slovan Bratislava (2-0 and 0-0), continues in the Europa League and will face RFS Latvia, with a guaranteed participation in the League Phase of the Conference League if they are eliminated by the Latvians.

The matches of the Cypriot teams in the next phase will take place on the 22nd and 29th of August with the aim to achieve a triple Cypriot presence in the League Phase of UEFA competitions.
