Trump tells Kamala Harris ''you're fired''

Harris fires back at Trump, citing prosecutor experience

Former President Donald Trump turned his focus on Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally in Charlotte, describing her as “a new victim to defeat.”

As reported by NPR, Trump repeatedly mispronounced Harris’s first name while labeling her more radical than President Joe Biden and “a danger to democracy.”

“Something happened to me when I got shot,” Trump said Wednesday night, referring to a failed assassination attempt. “I became nice. And when you're dealing with these people, they're very dangerous people when you're dealing with them. You can't be too nice. You really can't be, so if you don't mind, I'm not going to be nice — is that okay?”

The crowd roared in approval, chanting “Fight. Fight. Fight.”

Harris, who is running for president, has been equally combative. In her first major speech as the likely Democratic nominee on Tuesday, Harris highlighted her background as a prosecutor, saying it would be useful against Trump.

“I took on perpetrators of all kinds — predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain,” she said in Wisconsin. “So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump's type.”

Trump responded Wednesday, calling her “Lyin’ Kamala Harris” and "the most incompetent and far-left vice president in American history.” He criticized her stance on gun rights and abortion, calling her “a radical, crazy person.”

“You've been terrible at everything you've done,” Trump said, directing his comments as if speaking to Harris. “You're ultra-liberal. And we don't want you here. We don't want you anywhere. Kamala. You're fired.”

This rally marked Trump’s first since President Biden exited the presidential race and only his second since the attempt on his life. The visit underscores the importance Trump places on North Carolina, a state he won twice but narrowly in 2020, prompting heavy campaigning from both parties.

If the presidential election were held today, 46% of voters would support Trump, 45% would support Harris, and 9% are undecided.
