Last Sunday, a woman who owns a residential building and a jewelry store in Limassol was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after two men brutally attacked and robbed her Sunday morning.
The perpetrators were staking the woman out on the fifth floor of her building, where she lived in a penthouse, and carried out the attack in the stairway as soon as she stepped out of her apartment to take out the trash.
Immediately following the attack, police vowed to find the suspects in the case, which shocked public opinion over the use of brutal force against an elderly woman.
Reports said the two attackers startled the woman, grabbed her, forced her back inside, tied her up, gagged her, and demanded money while hitting her with brass knuckles in the face.
Local media said the two perpetrators turned the place upside down, grabbing jewelry, valuables, and cash before running away on foot. A third individual drove the two attackers away, according to reports.
