Cypriot authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection with an ongoing terrorism investigation, bringing the total number of people currently being held in the case to four.

According to information reported by the Cyprus News Agency, the newly arrested individuals were living in the Larnaca district. A court in Larnaca approved their detention for eight days while investigators continue examining the case.

The development follows the earlier arrests of two men, aged 32 and 38, who appeared before the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni on Saturday. During a closed hearing, the court granted police a further eight days to keep both suspects in custody.

Investigators are examining evidence that allegedly links the group to plans targeting Israeli nationals. One suspect is reported to have told authorities that Israelis were the intended targets, although police are still working to determine the nature of the suspected attacks and where they may have been carried out.

The original arrests took place in Larnaca after authorities gathered and evaluated intelligence information. Police later executed court-authorized searches at two properties associated with the 32-year-old suspect.

During those searches, officers seized a range of items, including materials that could potentially be used in the production of explosives. Reports indicate that ammonium nitrate was among the substances discovered at properties located in Governor's Beach and the Kamares area of Larnaca.

All seized evidence has been sent for specialized forensic analysis. Police are continuing their investigation to establish whether additional individuals were involved in the suspected activities.
