The Report of the UN Secretary-General on his mission of good offices in Cyprus circulated today as an official document of the UN Security Council number S/2019/322.
Guterres in his report said that the horizon of an endless process without results lay behind us and that there was a widespread consensus that the status quo in Cyprus is no longer sustainable.
The report states that the two sides did not succeed in assuaging the scepticism among the public that the necessary political will exists to reach a comprehensive settlement through a meaningful, results-oriented process.
Guterres urges the parties to constructively consider the framework of six points he presented on the 30th of June 2017 which is known as the Guterres framework.
