European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is scheduled to visit Cyprus on Wednesday, where she will attend events marking the official start of Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Her stop in Nicosia follows a trip to Paris on Tuesday, where she is due to take part in a meeting of the so-called “Alliance of the Willing” focused on support for Ukraine, according to the European Commission’s chief spokesperson.
After her engagements in Cyprus, von der Leyen is expected to continue her regional tour on Thursday, with visits planned to Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, highlighting the EU’s diplomatic outreach in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.
