A seasonal low-pressure system is still calling the shots, but it’s letting a few clouds audition for supporting roles.
Today: Most of the island will bask under mostly clear skies, though local bursts of cloudiness will drop in from time to time. In the mountains, and maybe even a few inland spots, midday and afternoon could bring an isolated shower or, if nature feels dramatic, a quick thunderclap. Winds start off mild-mannered (southeast to southwest, 3 Beaufort), then firm up by afternoon to 3-4 Beaufort across most areas. Along the windward coasts, expect them to flex harder, hitting 4-5 Beaufort. The sea stays mostly calm to slight, except in the southwest later in the day, where it tips toward “slight but noticeable.” Temperatures will reach 37°C inland, 30°C out west and southwest, 32°C elsewhere along the coasts, and 27°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight: Skies remain mostly clear, though low clouds will wander through like quiet late-night guests. Closer to dawn, light mist or fog is expected in spots. Winds will fade into downslope breezes, light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slight, except in the west, where it edges toward slight. Overnight temperatures dip to 22°C inland and along the coasts, and 18°C up in the higher mountains.
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: A pattern sets in: mostly clear skies, with local afternoon clouds gathering over the mountains. Some of those clouds will likely spill a short shower or two, just to keep things interesting.
Temperatures: A slight drop comes Tuesday, after which the mercury holds steady through Thursday, hovering close to the seasonal norm, summer’s version of “don’t get too comfortable.”
