A dramatic video footage emerged revealing the heart-stopping moments when a woman desperately clung to the hood of a moving car in downtown Los Angeles.

According to a report on CBS News, the incident, which occurred last week outside the Whole Foods grocery store on 8th Street and Grand Avenue, unfolded after thieves brazenly snatched her beloved French Bulldog while she stood outside the store.

According to investigators, the harrowing ordeal transpired on Jan. 18 when Ali Zacharias was approached by a woman who swiftly seized her dog, Onyx, before darting into a waiting car driven by another individual.

In a heart-pounding pursuit, Zacharias, fueled by determination, leaped onto the hood of the culprit's vehicle, identified as a white four-door Kia Forte, as it sped away from the scene.

"I was like, 'I'm not letting this car go,' so I just held onto the windshield wipers," Zacharias recounted. "Before I knew it we were driving down the block and picking up speed and I was freaking out for my life suddenly."

Despite her valiant effort, Zacharias managed to maintain her grip for only about a block before the driver swerved, causing her to tumble off at 9th Street and Grand Avenue. Though she sustained bruises and cuts from the fall, Zacharias thankfully escaped serious injury.

Reflecting on the traumatic incident, Zacharias expressed her profound sorrow over the absence of Onyx from her daily routines. "Whatever I'm doing, I'm just sad that like I'm not doing with Onyx, or that he's missing out," she lamented. "You know, I'm grocery shopping and thinking like I'm not buying anything for him, and I mean the time has gone so quickly. I feel like this just happened. And yet it's already 10 days."

In response to the theft, the Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation, scouring security footage from the vicinity in hopes of apprehending the perpetrators and reuniting Zacharias with her cherished pet.

Authorities have released a photo of the primary suspect, described as a woman believed to be approximately 25 years old, clad in a gray hoodie, purple sweatpants, and black shoes. The second suspect, identified as a man of similar age, remains at large as investigators intensify their efforts to bring them to justice and bring solace to Zacharias in her time of distress.
