Press Release
The Green Agenda Cyprus Summit, the largest sustainability conference in Cyprus, returns to Nicosia on June 4, 2026, under the central theme “Transition as a responsibility (not a trend),” bringing together leading figures from the fields of sustainable development and innovation.
Among this year’s speakers is Yonadav Buber, CEO of BaroMar.
Buber will take the stage at the Green Agenda Cyprus Summit to present a technology that could help address one of Cyprus’ biggest renewable energy challenges: how to efficiently store surplus solar and wind power.
BaroMar is currently testing an innovative pilot project off the coast of Vasiliko, using sea pressure for underwater energy storage. The system is designed to be clean, sustainable, and far less dependent on conventional batteries.
The technology, also being explored internationally, works by storing compressed air in large underwater tanks and releasing it when electricity is needed.
