Cypriot tennis prospect Anastasis Mosaikos enjoyed a memorable first appearance at Wimbledon, opening his campaign with a victory in the Boys' 14 & Under Singles round-robin competition.
Mosaikos defeated Noah Honsberger in his opening match, making an impressive start to his debut at the prestigious tournament. The Boys' 14 & Under event uses a round-robin format, giving every player the opportunity to face each of the other competitors before the standings are decided.
Reflecting on the experience in a social media post, the young player described the past week as "fantastic" and said competing at Wimbledon had been "truly amazing." He also thanked Wimbledon for the opportunity, while expressing his appreciation to Head Tennis and Petrolina Holdings for their support throughout his journey.
Mosaikos also congratulated his fellow competitors and paid tribute to his father, Christos Mosaikos, and On Court Tennis Academy for helping him develop his game.
Looking ahead, the young Cypriot said the experience had left him motivated and ready for the tournaments still to come.
