Police have arrested four men in connection with a reported kidnapping, assault, threats, and extortion case dating to 13 August.

An 18-year-old told police that he was locked in a room in an apartment and beaten in multiple areas of his body over the course of a week.

As part of the investigation, authorities obtained testimony implicating four men, aged 33, 22, 21, and 20. They were located at an apartment in Famagusta, where they were arrested under outstanding court warrants.

During the search, police also found two 19-year-olds and a 23-year-old living at the apartment illegally in Cyprus. Officers discovered a quantity of dried cannabis and a device used for consuming controlled substances, which the 33-year-old suspect reportedly admitted owning.

All suspects were taken into custody. The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Aliens and Immigration Service, continues to investigate.

A court has ordered the suspects to be detained for eight days.
