Your upliftingly honest weather forecast

Where the sun shines bright and the storms play hide-and-seek.

Newsroom

Good morning, sun-seekers and shade-huggers alike! A seasonal low pressure system has drifted in, not to ruin your week but to keep things interesting, like the friend who always shows up uninvited yet somehow makes the party livelier.

Today:
Expect a mostly clear sky doing its best impression of a postcard. But don’t be fooled. Around midday, the clouds will sneak in like surprise guests at a family barbecue, bringing with them the chance of a cheeky shower or even a solo thunderstorm, especially over the mountains. Winds are feeling casual today, blowing southwest to northwest at 3-4 Beaufort, just enough to tousle your hair stylishly without the need for gel. The sea is a little moody, slightly rough, but still happy to host your afternoon dip. Temperatures will crank up to a sizzling 37°C inland (hydration highly recommended), around 31°C on the coasts (perfect for smug beach selfies), and a cooler 29°C in the mountains (where goats will be having the time of their lives).

Tonight:
Skies clear again, as though nothing dramatic ever happened. Winds take it easy, light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea calms itself down too, more “spa day” than “rock concert.” Temperatures settle nicely: 21°C inland and on the coasts, and a refreshing 17°C in the mountains. Perfect weather for stargazing or sneaking in one more ice cream.

Wednesday through Friday:
The pattern continues: clear mornings, clouds popping by at midday like nosy neighbors, and the occasional quick shower on Wednesday and Thursday up in the mountains. By Friday, the heat will finally step off the stage, and temperatures will take a bow below the usual seasonal averages, giving us all a breather and the perfect excuse to say, “Ooh, feels almost autumnal, doesn’t it?”

In short: Sunscreen by day, light jacket by night, and always keep a Plan B picnic spot that comes with a roof.
