Consulco recognises students with innovative ideas

Consulco held the ''Next Generation Proposals for a Better Cyprus'' student competition in collaboration with UCLan Cyprus, Frederick University and Neapolis University Pafos

Consulco, a specialist investment manager, organised and sponsored the student competition ''Next Generation Proposals for a Better Cyprus''.

As part of the competition, undergraduate and postgraduate students from three major Cypriot cities were invited to propose ideas and solutions for structural changes that could help improve Cyprus’ business environment and support efforts to attract further investment to the island.

The investment research competition was held in collaboration with UCLan Cyprus, Frederick University and Neapolis University Paphos, with the objective to give younger generations the opportunity to contribute to efforts to improve and develop the investment sector, through their innovative ideas. The students’ research projects were evaluated by a special jury that was set up for this purpose. The winners of the 1st prize from each university were:

  • Eleni Demosthenous from Frederick University
  • Alexandros Solomonides from UCLan Cyprus
  • Vladislav Machos from Neapolis University Pafos

Another 10 students were also awarded: 2 from Frederick University, 3 from UCLan Cyprus and 5 from Neapolis. The winners received monetary awards from Consulco Group, a firm with a long-standing presence in the investment sector.

Consulco’s CEO, Marios Hadjirousos emphasized in his statement that ''at Consulco we believe that young people can be agents of change for the improvement of our economy and society at large. This was our main goal with this competition: to motivate young people to take part in the effort to improve the country’s investment environment, creating the conditions for long-term economic prosperity''.

It is worth noting that the first three winners will present their research findings and proposals to the members of the Nicosia and Limassol Chambers of Commerce and Industry, aiming to inspire dialogue and action.
